Once an imposing Victorian home The Clough was converted into a Residential Care Home for the elderly in 1986 and in June 1998 was acquired by Aegis Residential Care Homes Ltd.

As owners of several homes in the North West we have established a reputation for taking an active role within the local community surrounding each home. We work with local colleges to support and encourage the training of many of our staff to NVQ standards and our residents play a large part in raising funds for Charity.

The Clough has always enjoyed a reputation for its high quality of care and as an organisation we are committed to investing sufficient resources to maintain our home as always being ‘fit for the future’. Mindful of the continuous introduction of Government and EC regulations concerning the welfare of our elderly we have already instigated significant changes.

The  extensive refurbishment programme has now been completed. The outside structure of the building and it’s grounds have undergone a facelift, bedrooms have been gutted and fitted with new furniture and co-ordinated soft furnishings, the dining room and lounge have been totally transformed, with their new furnishings all conforming to the latest Health and Safety requirements.

Our clients have given much this last century to ensure our quality of life. We owe it to them to make life as interesting, pleasant and productive as possible now. As management and staff of The Clough we are committed to maintaining the highest of professional standards whilst surrounding our Residents with the love and individual attention we feel they deserve. We encourage our Residents to keep up any hobbies as well as joining in on our outings and regular activities.
