The Laurels is situated in a quiet residential area within a mile of the centre of Congleton. Originally an imposing Victorian house it dates from 1810. The home is set in secluded gardens with a patio area which allows residents to make the most of the fresh air in the summer weather.

Conveniently situated on the edge of Congleton, a pleasant market town in rural east Cheshire, it enjoys the benefit of being close to all the towns amenities. It is well placed for both road and rail links to the Potteries and Manchester etc.

The Laurels became a residential care home in 1985 and was extended and modernised in 1998, again in 1990 and finally in 1997. All of the extensions comply with the most up-to-date and rigorous planning, health, safety and fire regulations.

Registered with the Commission for Social Care Inspection, The Laurels offers thirty five beds, mainly en-suite available for both long or short stay. All rooms are tastefully decorated and fitted with a nurse call system. Residents are encouraged to personalize their own rooms.

To enhance mobility within The Laurels there are two shaft lifts, an eight person and a six person, connecting all floors. In addition mechanical hoists are available to assist generally or with bathing.

We enjoy an enviable reputation for good fresh food cooked in our own modern kitchens and served in our pleasant and spacious dining rooms. There are two large communal lounges and residents have the opportunity for peaceful reflection or to join in with the many activities offered from day-to-day.

Visits from relatives and friends are encouraged at all times of day and the services of chiropody, physiotherapy, dental care, doctors, nurses, hairdressing and personal laundry are all readily available. There are regular visits from clergy of all denominations.

We provide twenty four hour care by carefully selected and trained care assistants and there is a high ratio of staff to residents. Staff provide a caring environment where the dignity, fulfilment and individuality of the resident is observed and constantly maintained.

Arrangements to view The Laurels or any enquiries regarding facilities or fees should be addressed to Heather Hillier the Care Manager on 01260 278710
