The Old Vicarage Residential Care Home Care Manager: Lorraine Mynott The Old Vicarage is a highly respected, Investors in People accredited residential care home located in a pleasant, attractive area in the village of Freckleton on the west Lancashire coastline. The village is located adjacent to Warton, the home of British Aerospace, approximately six miles west of Preston and only five miles along from Lytham. The area is served by the A584, which is the main coastal road between Preston and Blackpool. Built in 1926 The Old Vicarage stands within its own attractive well lawned grounds adjacent to the Village Park and bowling green. Originally residential it was converted to a care home in 1987 with subsequent alterations and extensions. Registered with the Care Standards Commission, The Old Vicarage is registered category 1 - Old Age, offering Day and Respite care as well as providing permanent and temporary places. We are also registered with Lancashire County Council for the purpose of supplying meals on wheels to residents in the local community. We have 12 standard, 14 Premier, 1 Premier Plus and 1 companion bedrooms available for a couple or friends choosing to share. In addition we have 2 lounges, one equipped with a ‘loop’ system and a dining room. All our rooms are equipped with a nurse call system, smoke detectors, TV aerial points and central heating. For those with special needs, we provide wheelchair access to all indoor and outdoor areas to make getting around as easy and convenient as possible. The Old Vicarage Care Home welcomes residents from every cultural, religious or ethnic background and special menus are available for religious, cultural or dietary needs. In course of construction and to be opened at the end of 2005 is a 7 Premier Plus roomed extension with its own lounge, tea and coffee making facilities that will set new standards both locally and nationally.
